The Saori Shed is a registered SAORI weaving studio for the East of England and supplier of SAORI Japanese weaving looms and equipment.

Saori weaving originates in Japan. It is freestyle handweaving without rules and restrictions. It is designed to be accessible to all regardless of age, gender or ability. SAORI encourages free expression and creativity through the beauty of lack of intention.

Saori has developed original, foldable, portable floor looms that are very weaver friendly. They have greatly simplified the process of warping and threading the loom, making it easier to get weaving.

In the studio there are four Saori weaving looms set up ready for you to start weaving. An exciting supply of yarns – A ‘wall of wool’, cottons, silks and fancy yarns. Unusual materials, fabrics and a lucky dip box of treasures to incorporate into your weaving.

I offer one-to-one tuition to get you started in the Saori way of weaving and follow on sessions for you to explore your inner creativity and create beautiful cloth that can be transformed into clothes, furnishings and more!

The Saori Shed can bring looms and equipment to your group and give a talk, demonstration or workshop in the joyful art of Saori weaving.
